Self-Care Practices
Self-care is an important part of the equation when it comes to achieving good health, with 64% of Americans saying that taking care of themselves leads to greater productivity and 71% tying the practice to increased happiness. But so often, making time for oneself can take a backseat amid the countless responsibilities of daily life. We recommend sharing the following communication templates to help your employees be proactive about their quality of life and taking time to recharge.

Subject: More self-care means a better workday
Sometimes it can be challenging to prioritize self-care throughout the workweek—especially amid the mounting demands of your job and home life. But as the saying goes, you have to put your oxygen mask on first before you can help others, meaning that taking time to rest and recharge is necessary for you to be your best as a partner, parent, friend, and employee.
Our mental health benefits partner, Calm Health, has curated a few targeted resources to help you incorporate self-care into your daily routine:
- If you often dismiss the need for you time (after all, there’s just so much to do!), the Radical Self-Care meditation series is for you. Through its ten sessions, you’ll discover the essential tools of self-care and create a nourishing practice of reflection and rest.
- It can be easy to criticize yourself when things get hard. That’s why the gentle guided meditation Kindness Towards Yourself walks you through the practice of letting go of mistakes and learning how to foster positive self-talk.
- Ready for a calming, chilled-out playlist? The Stay Vibrant Series of playlists, curated and mixed by San Holo exclusively for Calm, encourages you to check in with yourself and slip into a state of calm joy.
- Feeling stressed? Try the Present in the Body guided meditation, which helps you scan your physical self to tap into the present moment.
Try one of the resources above in the Calm Health app and start creating a self-care routine that can easily be integrated into your daily life.
